Fried Peanut Butter and Jelly Balls Video

Hey everyone!  This was my first time making a video on how to make a recipe!  Check it out here

If I have any advice for those making this recipe make sure you roll the dough thin before covering the peanut butter jelly balls.  If it is too thick the inside won’t cook through properly, but if it is thin the crust will be nice and crispy, and the peanut butter would be less thick.

Eating to Live, or Eating to Live?

I will never forget when I was young, I really loved food more than life itself, I would honestly get confused when people would not be going for seconds or thirds in any given meal!  One day I remember my Grandmother who is the sweetest petite old woman, and she said to me “Nick, some people eat to live, but you and your grandfather live to eat!”  Right away, without a second thought I agreed whole heartedly that I would in fact be living to eat!  It is something that stuck with me and I would remember from time to time and get a good laugh.  My purpose in writing this is to show the world exactly how it is that some people in a literal sense are living to eat!  Eating is something that comes naturally to everyone, it is a necessity to life so the demand for having a food industry is extremely inelastic.  There is an incredibly large space for businesses to arise in the food industry!  This industry is often overlooked but it could be a great fit for new entrepreneurs looking for a niche.  But to get into the industry there is a certain type of person you need to be to succeed.

First and foremost, you need to be the type of person who “lives to eat” to succeed.  Like any other industry you need that fire, you need motivation, you need a raw innate passion for what you are doing!  If you don’t love what you are doing, and are unmotivated in the cooking industry you will fail to find a niche, and people will be able to tell that there is no passion, and no one wants to listen to anyone who doesn’t really mean what they say with all their heart.  But if you have passion you need to learn to really focus your drive and love to a specific field.  In short, you need to find your niche!  In the food industry there are many niches for example you can specialize in any sort of nationalities food, since each culture has its own food the options are many, also there are catering businesses, restaurants, writers of cook books, TV personalities, and even people who suggest/show new recipes.  There are even many more possible niches, and that means you can be creative, in finding your niche.  Speaking of creativity, that is one of the most important qualities to have in order to succeed in the food industry!  For example, my niche is helping college students find new, easy, healthy, and tasty recipes, and I need to be creative to keep my blog posts interesting, and come up with/find new recipes that people will want.  I can’t just share how to make cereal, it is something that is just too easy and uncreative.  But when I talk about noodles made out of zucchini, with a pesto/parmesan sauce, and chicken your interest is peaked!  Suddenly there is an interesting story, a new recipe that you can see everyone is going to want to try!  If you don’t have creativity, and don’t innovate at all with recipes that other people have not heard of yet, then you are not doing your part in the food industry in educating the people about food.  So reviewing what is needed to get into the industry is just simply, be someone who lives to eat, be creative, and find your niche of where you fit in, figure out how you are going to help people with what you do!  Once you do all these things you are primed for success in the industry.

Now for me I am passionate about this industry of food for a reason, that is in the future this industry has so much room to be grown and monetized!  The part of the industry that is about to grow like crazy is the industry of making new creative recipes.  The reason I say that is because todays world of social media is unlike the world at any other time in history, it is so incredibly easy to spread a video and make it viral if you know what you are doing and have quality content.  One of the easiest contents to make quality content is simply to do what “Buzzfeed Food” is doing.  They find recipes for pretty creative food that seems challenging to make, but then they make a video of them making the food, and make it look very easy!  It makes the viewer the star, it makes the viewer feel like they can go out and make the exact same meal!  That was an inspiration to me, I saw my Facebook was starting to get littered with these videos, and seeing how many people were liking, commenting, and sharing them made me want to take my passion for food to the next level and make a blog of my own helping people make quality food themselves no matter what their cooking skills are!  I also chose to specifically help college students with their cooking because honestly, we need it!  College students have just left their parents and often times this is their first time to be cooking for themselves, and that is just one of the many things they need to adjust to when first entering college.  Because most students don’t know how to cook, or how to give themselves a balanced healthy diet, you see many people gain weight over the years.  This is what I want to fix with my blog.  I am living to eat, and even if you are just a eat to live kind of person, I want to help you take your cooking to the next level!  Check out my blog more at

In case you missed it, today is the official first day of spring! When I hear that, all that comes to mind is how excited I am for my spring wardrobe. The sandals, sundresses and shorts are about to be in full force. As we start to see all of our favorite stores transition from winter to spring, you’ll notice a few trends.

Especially after Pantone has already announced their colors of the year for 2016. Which are rose quartz and serenity or light pink and light blue. Those colors will make their way into everything this season, from clothes to shoes to home décor.

How it usually works is the big designers have already made their seasons collections based off of these colors, and they work their way down the line. With the colors going through different department stores until it trickles down to us. And then by the…

Dress Code v.s. Uniform

Inside Utah Charter Schools

Uniforms: A specific way to dress that all the students must follow. It is all the same, uniforms are easily enforced because someone not in uniform stands out.

Dress Code: This is where the school sets certain parameters and the students can dress how they would like as long as they stay within the parameters. Some dress codes can be very strict and others can be very relaxed. Dress codes can be hard to enforce but it’s not impossible.

During my time at a charter school the complaint I heard all the time was that they hated having uniforms. I hate to break it to so many of you who believe this, but you weren’t even wearing uniforms, you were just asked to dress within the parameters of the dress code. Also, even if you went to a public or district school, they too have a dress code. The dress…

How good are your skin care tips?

everyone who is like me and has skin issues, please read this… very helpful!!

PSA Skin Care

I read an article this past week about advice that dermatologists have come across that really isn’t advice at all.  One of the things that I learned back in school from one of my teachers is to question everything someone tells you.  Just because you read something on the internet or hear something from a family friend doesn’t make the advice they give you factual and backed by reason and maybe some scientific study.  Take the time to do your research on everything that you read and hear about especially with dieting and skin care and cosmetics.

The article I read listed 11 not entirely true facts about skin care.  I want to talk about a few of them and share my opinion about them.

  1. You should blame your behavior for acne breakouts

Acne is caused by genetics and hormones.  Emotional stress and an unhealthy diet can be a factor…

Health Tips From One College Student To Another

Dollarphotoclub_74097592.jpg

So today I actually had the great opportunity today to reconnect with an old friend today, I called him to catch up on the past 3 years where we have not heard from each other!  He is someone who is about to graduate college at Cornell, but he said something that intrigued me, he said “well there is no way around it, your diet is going to be junk while you are in college.”  and the thing that hit me was how he a senior in college, spent all of his years believing that he could not eat healthy in his college years.

Now I want to reach out and tell everyone what it is about my diet that I can say truly that I feel like I am eating very healthy amidst a busy schedule and doing it on a budget.  First of all I think one of the biggest reasons people will gain weight in college is because peoples metabolisms are starting to slow down at this point in their lives, and also because you go from having a very active life style, to what is often a life style similar to someone working a desk job.  You can not eat the same diet if you are sitting in classes, in the library, and so forth all day.  To check out some tips on how to have a healthy diet on a desk job check this link out.  But not all of us live that sort of life style, and for a more active life style here is a link for more general healthy diet tips

As for me a few tips that have helped me in keeping a healthy diet, is besides trying to keep active, is to spend my time taking an hour to go grocery shopping to get healthy ingredients for quick food you can make on the go during the week.  For example, I buy zucchini, eggs, flour tortillas, chicken, and different sort of sauces like pesto basil, or even a basic tomato sauce.  These are all relatively low cost products, but they can be used in different ways, and are generally very healthy!  Get creative, try new things out, the Veggetti is something I have used often and each recipe I use for it takes 20 minutes tops and is extremely healthy!  Here below I will post a link to buy one of these great veggettis!
